Before Planning for 2025: A Holistic Approach to Reflection and Vision

As the year winds down, it’s tempting to dive straight into setting goals and making resolutions for the next chapter. But before you start planning for 2025, I invite you to pause and reflect deeply.

Recently, I came across a list of thought-provoking questions from Greg Scheinman founder of The Midlife Male, and they’ve become an integral part of my year-end self-evaluation process. This year, my wife, Michelle founder of LasWell Health, and I are incorporating these prompts into our annual Think Week tradition (more on that in an upcoming post!).

These prompts have been transformative in helping me:

  • Uncover blind spots

  • Clarify my priorities

  • Align my actions with my vision for the future

They serve as a guide to evaluate life holistically, identify areas for growth, and create space for the best version of yourself to emerge.

Ready to dive in? Here are the questions to explore:

  1. What are your gaps?

  2. What do you wish you had more or less of?

  3. Where is the joy in your life?

  4. Where are you spending too much or too little time?

  5. What do you truly value?

  6. What do you see others doing or living that you wish you had?

  7. What’s cool to you?

  8. What excites you?

  9. Where does it feel like something is missing?

  10. What do you wish you could share but don’t?

  11. What fills you up? What drains you?

  12. When do you feel energized?

  13. When do you feel drained?

  14. How much sleep do you need?

  15. What’s really important to you?

  16. Who’s really important to you?

  17. What are your health goals?

  18. What are your fitness goals?

  19. What are your financial goals?

  20. What are your retirement goals?

  21. What are some travel or fun goals?

  22. What are some family goals?

  23. What does your home look like?

  24. What does your wardrobe look like?

  25. What’s your “big thing”?

  26. What do you want to stop doing?

  27. What type of person do you want to be?

Why These Questions Matter

Reflection is a powerful tool. These questions can help you clarify your direction, uncover overlooked areas, and inspire you to design a life that aligns with your values and dreams.

Take the time to engage with them. Whether it’s through journaling, deep conversations with loved ones, or quiet personal reflection, these prompts can illuminate the path forward.

As you consider your answers, ask yourself:

  • What changes feel urgent?

  • What areas deserve more attention?

  • What small shifts could bring you closer to your ideal life?

May these questions serve as a catalyst for creating a vision for 2025 that excites and energizes you, just as they have for me.

If something meaningful comes up for you, I’d love to hear about it! Drop me a message.
